‘Port City Project’ would not be terminated-President Maithripala Sirisena
The president Maithripala Sirisena who is presently in China on a four day official visit to
China for bilateral talks has met the Chinese president Xi Jin –Pin upon his arrival in China.
The Reuters have reported that president Maithripala Sirisena had vouched that the project ‘Colombo port city project’ launched under the Chinese expertise would not be terminated. It has been suspended only temporarily.
President Maithripala Sirisena has quipped that this decision was not arrived at after meeting the Chinese president Xi Jin-Pin on his visit to China and was also not influenced via the meeting with the Chinese president.
