Pilot's Sister Expresses Astonishment Over Union's Denial of Chamika's 'Flight Attendant' Claim

After news broke in the media regarding cricketer Chamika Karunaratne allegedly avoiding responsibility for a child with Rasika Senadheera, a SriLankan Airlines Grade A pilot, the Flight Attendants' Union issued a statement asserting that she is not a 'flight attendant', that they do not know anyone like her, and requesting that their professional reputation not be harmed.

In response to this statement, which appeared to be an attempt by 'flight attendants' to distance themselves from the incident, Nadeeka Senadheera, the sister of Rasika Senadheera – the woman facing the situation and a senior first-officer pilot operating aircraft like the A320 and A330 – and also a pilot herself, sarcastically reacted via her Facebook account.

Rasika Senadheera, the aggrieved young woman, is not a flight attendant but a pilot. On the recent Women's Day, she also delivered a Women's Day message from flight attendants through the Global Airline Alliance.
A video related to her message was also published on their official Instagram page. It was noted there that the pilot presenting views on behalf of SriLankan Airlines was Rasika Senadheera.

Nadeeka Senadheera, Rasika's sister, who has worked as a flight attendant for SriLankan Airlines and Qatar Airways for some time, stated on her Facebook account that she, a second-year law student at Staffordshire University in Britain, has great faith in the country's judicial system.
She also mentioned that she is not permitted to comment on the ongoing legal proceedings related to the incident at this time.
“During my visits to local courts, I have personally witnessed the integrity, independence, and judicial wisdom of our judges. Therefore, I have immense faith in the Sri Lankan judicial system,”
 she stated.

Furthermore, on her Facebook account, she sarcastically highlighted how the Flight Attendants' Union had previously remained silent regarding the gold theft reported in 2017 and several other allegations.

The union, which issued a media statement claiming that ignoring the woman from their close-knit community, who is embroiled in a child custody case involving Sri Lanka's prominent cricketer Chamika Karunaratne, would severely tarnish the reputation of the entire profession, likely did so because
when she was initially reported as a flight attendant, there could have been significant criticism on social media, suggesting 'this is how flight attendants are.'

The case against national team cricketer Chamika Karunaratne, filed by a flight attendant requesting marriage or, failing that, child maintenance, will be re-examined on the 8th.
