The Habarana doctor who took the nurse's son aside and molested him

A doctor serving at Habarana Rural Hospital has reportedly sexually abused a 14-year-old minor boy inside the doctor's quarters. The Habarana Police have arrested the doctor in connection with this serious allegation.

According to police investigations, the arrested suspect doctor is a 36-year-old resident of Saliyawewa, Anuradhapura. The mother of the abused minor child works as a nurse at the same hospital, and the child had come to the hospital premises on the night of the 18th to meet his mother.

At that time, the suspect doctor had taken the child into the doctor's quarters and committed the sexual abuse, an official from Habarana Police confirmed to the media. The police made this arrest based on information revealed during preliminary investigations conducted after recording a statement from the minor boy who faced the incident.

The child has currently been referred for a medical examination, and a team of officers from the Habarana Police Children and Women's Bureau is conducting further investigations into the incident. Upon completion of the investigations, the suspect doctor is scheduled to be produced before the court.
