Born into a family with a musical background, Asha Bhosle began her musical journey at the age of 10, entering the field by singing the song 'Chala Chala Nav Bala' in the Marathi film 'Maja Baal'. She then entered Hindi cinema with the song 'Sawan Aaya' from the film 'Chunariya', and recorded her first Hindi solo song for the film 'Raat Ki Rani'.
During her career, which spanned over seven decades, she sang thousands of songs in various styles, including classical, ghazal, cabaret, and pop. Songs like 'Dil Cheez Kya Hai' from 'Umrao Jaan', 'Aaja Aaja Main Hoon Pyar Tera' from 'Teesri Manzil', and 'Tanha Tanha' from 'Rangeela' showcase her unique vocal personality. Expressing sorrow over her demise, veteran singers like Sukhbir also stated that her songs like 'Chura Liya' and 'Piya Tu' greatly inspired their musical journeys and generations.
Asha Bhosle, who remained an extremely active personality even in the final period of her life, recently had a video of her dancing to the highly popular song 'Tauba Tauba' from the Vicky Kaushal-starrer film 'Bad News' during a concert in Dubai, which rapidly circulated across the internet. That incident, which was greatly loved by the audience, also made it clear that her age was no barrier to her vitality or her love for music.
