Two youths carrying two swords were arrested

Two youths who were roaming with deadly weapons in the Vallan area of Punkudativ, Jaffna, have been arrested by the Kayts (Vootkavathurai) Police. This raid was carried out based on confidential information received by the Kayts Police that individuals were behaving in a manner that threatened the security of the area.

According to that information, the police succeeded in arresting these two suspects during a special operation launched in the Vallan area.

During this raid, two swords, a dangerous axe, and several other items found in the possession of the suspects were taken into police custody. It is noteworthy that this arrest was made against the backdrop where various parties had pointed out that threats from members of various violent gangs have recently increased in the Punkudativ area, severely impacting the normal lives of the people.

The Kayts Police have now commenced extensive further investigations regarding the two youths arrested in connection with the incident. The police further stated that necessary steps are being taken to present the suspects and case exhibits to the court after preliminary investigations.
