The government has introduced a special relief program to revive the industrial sector affected by the 'Ditwa' cyclone and the accompanying adverse weather conditions. Accordingly, the Ministry of Industries and Entrepreneurship Development has decided to provide a financial aid of two hundred thousand rupees (LKR 200,000) to establish the basic framework required for any industry damaged by the sudden disaster to restart and continue operations.

To obtain this financial facility, it is mandatory for the relevant industrialists to be registered with the Ministry of Industries and Entrepreneurship Development or an institution operating under it.

Industrialists affected by the disaster who are registered with the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), Industrial Development Board (IDB), National Entrepreneurship Development Authority (NEDA), Small Business Development Division (SED), National Productivity Secretariat (NPS), as well as the National Crafts Council (NCC) and the National Design Centre (NDC), are eligible to apply for this two hundred thousand rupee (LKR 200,000) grant. Applications can be submitted by visiting the www.industry.gov.lk website or through Entrepreneurship Development, Small Business Development, Export Development, and Productivity Promotion officers serving at District and Divisional Secretariats.

Additionally, the Ministry has initiated a data collection mechanism to obtain accurate information on damaged industries and streamline the process of their revival. A special telephone number, 071-2666660, is open for providing information and inquiries regarding this matter. The Ministry informs all affected industrialists that they must update their business information before 2:00 PM on December 16th. The Ministry's website or the link https://aid.floodsupport.org/business-impact can be used to enter this information, and assistance from Divisional Secretariat officers can also be obtained. Based on this data, future support and coordination activities for the affected industries are planned.
