Prominent cricket commentator Brian Thomas remanded
Colombo Additional Magistrate Bandara Nelumdeniya yesterday (11) remanded Bryan Thomas, a journalist and cricket commentator, on suspicion of embezzling Rs. 1.43 billion and remanded him in custody until February 18. Brian Thomas was arrested by the CID yesterday in connection with a March 2019 complaint by businessman Chandra Schaffter, who alleges that Schaffter embezzled 1.43 billion rupees by posing as a broker for a garment company. Investigations are ahead.
