Doctor Madhushanka who falls and dies from top floor of house ... having gone to help friend

A news which rendered Raigam Korale in a sea of sorrow is heard during the time of torrential rain. That is the news of Horana 'Punchi dosthara's untimely death. He had been serving at Kotiyagala hospital, Moneragala and it is of Dr. Priyantha Madhushanka   living in Kotupathgoda, Kumbuka. This death has occured when he had been assisting a friend of his and was engaged in taking measurements on the top floor of a house. At that moment he had been moving backwards unaware of where he was reading and has fallen to the flight
of steps damaging his head and spinal cord which then resulted in his untimely death.

After this accident occured last Tuesday (3) though he was initially admitted to Buttala hospital and subsequently Moneragala general hospital, even by that time he had passed away. Mrs.Nanda Hettiarachchi, mother of the deceased who spoke of her son had this to say: "My son first of all studied at Kumbuka East primary school. He came first in the class every year and then went to Horana Thakshila Madhya Maha Vidyalaya. After passing the advanced level there he entered the medical faculty at Sri Jayawardenepura University.

I and son's father tired ourselves and gave him this education. Son even studied at Kumbuka Sri Sudarshanarama Daham Pasela and won the hearts of of everyone in the village and studied well. Won many games. Son's skills brought pride to our family and the village as well. After education at the medical college he spent his residential period at Elpitiya hospital. After that he got an appointment at Moneragala Kotiyagala hospital.

During that time son got married to a lover with whom he had a romance for a period of time. She is Madhuwanthi ... or son, Madhushanka. That also is strange. Son loves me, his younger brother and his father very much. Every day he would speak and inquire about us. He bought a car and was hoping to buy one for his younger brother also. He was in fact having hopes of making arrangements to get a transfer to Kalutara Nagoda hospital in another year's time.  It was during this time that this tragedy occured as if thieves took him away. I wish for my son who won everybody's heart ... in future samsaras!"
