It has now been confirmed from medical investigations that the leopard which was beaten to death by a crowd of people in Ambalkulam area in Kilinochchi was bot an animal which barged into the hamlet concerned from the forest and subsequently a suspicion has thus emerged whether the leopard was raised by the security forces.

Villagers question whether two persons who came had not inquired if the animal has not come that
side; before the animal had come to the hamlet. The two persons who came were those connected to security forces and had not informed as to what type the animal belonged to; those who encountered the incident had mentioned. Villagers of Ambalkulam hamlet had said that a leopard had appeared in the village a short while after the two of them had left. The villagers had informed the police too about this statement.

The said suspicion has further developed because the veterinary surgeons have stated at the inquiry conducted after the leopard died that it was not an animal that lived in the forest. Wildlife veterinary surgeon Dr. Akalanka Pinidiya has said at the autopsy conducted on the leopard subjected to brutal murder at Ambalkulam, Kilinochchi was not a leopard that lived in the forest, it was reported earlier. What he had mentioned was that considering the physical features of this leopard the animal did not show features of an animal which lived in climatic conditions prevalent in a region such as Kilinochchi.

A dialogue ensued recently across the social media regarding this leopard being cruelly killed. Since video clips of the incident too were secured as evidence, police took steps to apprehend the suspects. Information has by now been revealed about this leopard that there are hidden factors regarding the animal based on the evidence stated by villagers according to the revelation of Wildlife veterinary surgeon Akalanka Pinidiya.
