"We won't let anybody engage in bond scams!" -- Prime Minister Ranil
During a religious festival held in the town of Hatton today (6) Prime Minister Ranil made a pledge that a search would be carried out in respect of bond scams.
This is what he said: "We are now on the tracks of corruption. We can't let anyone engage in corruption. We have uncovered a large number of
corrupt things committed by the previous regime. The police have been able to track some of those and have filed action. The others are being investigated. Those have been directed to the Attorney General's Department and comments can be made after securing their decisions. If there are allegations ... they must be inquired into. There was an allegation against a Central Bank bond.
At the start I appointed an internal committee under our attorneys-at-law. After that it was handed over to the Common.
