Forty Four drug agents in Kolonnawa nabbed through STF operation

On the instructions of the Inspector General of Police, the special

task personnel had during the past few months through operations had been able to arrest forty four drug dealers in Kolonnawa, Meetotamulla and Wellampitiya areas it is reported.

During this operation it is learnt that heroin worth of rupees seven lakhs eighty thousand. The forty four persons who had been nabbed are those who are involved in drug trafficking in various phases. They are however not drug addicts by any means.

Out of the forty four persons arrested are 15 women. On the instructions of the Inspector General of Police further operations are continuing in Meetotamulla,Kolonnawa,Wellampitiya  and Sinhapura Nagahamulla areas.
