Amal Perera acquitted from traffic case as evidences were contradictory
Over three years ago In the year 2012 popular
singer Amal Perera was charged by the Paiyagala Police as he had parked his vehicle on the Galle road in a manner that was obstructing the traffic police in performing their duties.
The Police had filed a case against Amal Perera as he was unable to produce his driving licence or any other form of document to prove his true identity.
When the case was taken up the Additional Magistrate of Kalutara courts Ayesha Abdeen had acquitted popular singer Amal Perera from the charges filed against him for parking his vehicle on the road in a manner that was obstructing the traffic police personnel in performing duties. This was due to the reason that the evidences furnished by the prosecution parties were found to be contradictory.
