Cement at Rs 760/- Canned fish at Rs 109/-

The Minister of Finance, Ravi Karunanayake has said that a bag of cement 50 kg in weight could

be bought at a price of Rs 760/- from any manufacturing factory. In this regard the finance ministry officials have arranged with the manufacturing factories and companies.In the latest budget proposals it was said that a bag of cement could be bought at Rs 870/-from the retail market.

There had been many complaints that the retail dealers have not had  stocks of cement for sale to customers.In this regard the Minister of Finance has had discussions with dealers. A bag of cement weighing 50 kg will have to be sold at Rs 870/-.

In the meantime a tin of canned fish (400 grams) could be purchased at Rs 109/-.This was announced by the officials of the finance ministry
