Chairman of Ratgama PS shot dead
The Chairman of the Ratgama Pradeshiya Saba, Manoj Mendis had been shot at last night at a hotel in
Hikkaduwa,where he had been present at a party. The Chairman had been rushed to the Karapitiya Teaching hospital but had succumbed to his injuries before admission to the hospital.
An eye witness has given evidence that a person who was staying close to him had shot him. At the time of his demise he was 37 years old.
The Hikkaduwa Police are conducting investigation in connection with the incident.
