Elephant separated into two parts after collision with train:
The accidents that elephants confront on railway tracks have been heard quite regularly in the recent past. It is rather doubtful that the related authorities had not taken any preventive measures to prevent such frequent tragic occurrences.
Last week once more a wild elephant was killed on the rail track between Habarana and Hatharakotuwa by the postal train bound to Colombo from Batticaloa. When the speeding train was travelling the wild elephant was on the rail track and after collision had been dragged about 100 metres and was killed. The elephant had been separated into two parts. The photographs shown here is ample proof of the elephant been separated in to two.
