A  Pharmacy in Borella has been raided by the authorities of the National Drugs Authority:

It is reported that owing to wrong drugs issued to the Minister of Health, Maithripala Sirisena by a pharmacy in Borella the day before yesterday, has forced the authorities of the National Drugs Authority to raid the pharmacy.
The Minister had parked his vehicle near the Castle Street Hospital and had sent a representative with a prescription to purchase some drugs, prescribed for an ailment.
It was learnt later that the drugs that were issued were not in accordance to those prescribed .This had caused the Minister a tremendous concern and pain of mind. The Minister had brought this irregularity to the notice of the Chairman of the National Drugs Authority over the telephone yesterday.
The Chairman of the National Drugs Authority had got perturbed and had sent an inspector with the identical prescription to the same pharmacy as a normal customer to purchase the same drugs prescribed. He too had been issued with the identical wrong drugs issued to the Minister the other day.
As a consequence to this incident the National Drugs Authority has cancelled the licence issued to the pharmacy to sell drugs and ordered to close the pharmacy.
The Minister has taken a decision to enhance the standards of all pharmacies by making it compulsory to make all pharmacies air conditioned.
