To avoid further embarrassment for electricity interruptions a Generator has emerged as stand by for white flag case
During the past on a number of occasions there had been constant electricity
failures, when the white flag case was in progress, particularly when Sarath Fonseka was trying to give evidence. This incident was subjected to immense criticism. Hence not only Sarath Fonseka but also the Judges in the bench were placed in an awkward position and embarrassment which deprived them to proceed with the case. This made the Judges to complain about these constant electricity failures.
When discreet investigations were made it was reliably made to know that it was not a case of sabotage but was owing to a defect in power lines that were connected to the courts complex. This even made the Judges to
complain to initiate prompt action to rectify the defect that existed.
During the last hearing too there was a electricity failure which made the Judges to make a strong protest to remedy the defect. It was made to understand that the authorities would make the necessary rectifications to give an uninterrupted service.
In spite of all these objections and requests and promises given up to today (the 9th Sept), the defects had not been rectified yet and the problem of interruption in the supply of electricity remains unresolved.
The authorities thinking of an alternative have brought an electricity generator and fixed to a point close to the courts complex to supply power in the event of another power failure that may recur and also to have a temporary solution to the electricity crisis, the court complex is subjected to.
