In this cricket fixture between North-East team became victorious: Dallas 3, Sanath 15 , Gajadeera 0The youth in the North and East under rehabilitation were taken on a visit to Matara area.This visit was coordinated jointly by the Ministry of Youth affairs and youth development and the Ministry of Rehabilitation for a 3 day programme named ‘Thal Ruppanam to Pol Ruppawata’.
After completion of the programme on the third day a friendly cricket match was organised between the North-East rehabilitation team and the Ministers and M.P’s teams at the Matara Uyanwatta esplanade which was won by the North-East rehabilitation team convincingly.
The Ministers X1 scored 63 runs in 10 overs for which Dullas Alahapperuma, Sanath Jayasuriya ,Weerasumana Weerasinghe and Darshana Ratnayake made 3, 15 , 11 ,1*runs respectively while Chandrasiri Gajadeera failed to score. For the North –East team Anthony Alawes,Selvaratna Aiyakaran and Wimalananda Vinod scored 39, 15, and 10 runs respectively.
