The Chief Incumbent Monk of Mihinthale Raja Maha Viharaya has been refused bail for child abuseWhat a shameful scene is to see a Chief Incumbent of a Raja Maha Viharaya, closing his face with his robes and alighting into a prison bus after been found guilty of child abuse?.
A 13 year old girl had been subjected to abuse by Namalwewa Rathanasara Thera, the Chief Incumbent of Raja Maha Viharaya in Mihinthale. The accused ,who was in custody was produced in courts and not granted bail.
Namalwewa Rathanasara Thera who claims to be the second most Senior Buddhist Monk in that entire area had been given orders by a Magistrate and
an acting Magistrate to arrest him not taking into any consideration about his status. He was arrested by the CID on the way to the airport to board a plane to Singapore.About 1 ½ years back the 12 years old girl then, had been handed over to the Monk with the knowledge of her mother by her grandmother. The Monk had paid money, a part of which the grandmother who collected the money had been given to the girl’s mother. This fact was revealed by the Police to Courts.
When the case was taken up for hearing yesterday the Lawyers of the Monk had told the Magistrate that the media personnel had made up this story for money. This reason was not accepted by the Magistrate. The girl’s grandmother and the Monk were not allowed bail. The case was postponed for the 14th of this month.
Copulation is a very basic necessity of all living beings. Here the mode of executing this right has been evil and wrong. One should find why such actions are the results of a so called pristine religion. Any religion or any organization prohibiting this basic necessity is promoting a false and evil doctrine. The results of this can be seen on a daily basis and those are enough proof to condemn those doctrines as false. Any doctrine preached or law imposed can be truth only if it can be practiced without danger. This is a basic principal which most do not want to accept.

What a disgusting state of affairs - a human being bowing down and worshiping another human being but saying that "I am not worshiping the monk but what he is wearing - the robe!". If any body is so insane to worship yellow coloured cloth its best to go to Maradana and keep on bowing towards and worshiping the shops where 100's of these yellow robes are available instead of degrading oneself by bowing down to these sexual perverts.
