GOLD BUDDHA STATUE @ GALGAMUWA POLICE STATION

Devotees in their thousands throng in to the Galgamuwa Police station to view the gold Buddha statue:

Last week when a private land in the Ankendewa area in Galgamuwa was bulldozed a gold Buddha statue, four feet in length was discovered engulfed in this land. The statue however was in two parts, the head separated from the body area. The owner of the land had promptly informed the police, who immediately had taken the statue into their possession. The news had spread like wild fire. People on hearing had come in their thousands to view this Buddha statue.
The courts would decide what should be done to the statue.
