Ananda Ganegoda, founder of 'Singlanka' institution, passes away

Mr. Ananda Ganegoda, a veteran artist who rendered long-term service for the upliftment and rejuvenation of Sri Lankan classical music, and also the founder of 'Singlanka' institution, has passed away. Respected in the field, he was a renowned figure who made a unique contribution to local music art.

Mr. Ananda Ganegoda, who maintained close ties with local musicians and creators, established the 'Singlanka' cassette production company with the aim of ensuring their creative independence, the quality of their productions, and their economic well-being. After radio, Singlanka company gained high recognition in the field as an institution that released high-quality musical creations to the public, respecting the refined taste of fans.

His body, as he also served as the chairman of a leading business network in the country, is currently placed at his private residence at No. 179/2, Templars Road, Mount Lavinia. Family sources state that the date and time of the final rites will be announced later.
