Baby Cheramy, a baby care brand, has successfully protected its brand identity by confirming its exclusive ownership and rights to its brand identity and intellectual property. This court ruling was issued against the emergence of a counterfeit imitation brand operating under the name 'Baby Sherani', which was very similar to the original product, causing confusion among consumers and trade partners. Hemas PLC took legal action because the counterfeit brand used a name very similar to the genuine Baby Cheramy brand, misleading consumers.
The court ruling has affirmed that any unauthorized imitation, whether visually, phonetically, or conceptually, constitutes an infringement of the company's intellectual property rights.
This ruling further strengthens the legal protection granted to Baby Cheramy and once again confirms its long-standing reputation as the original and genuine brand trusted by generations of Sri Lankan families.
