26 retired police dogs to be sold at public auction

The police have decided to sell 26 retired police dogs, who were previously serving under the Kandy Asgiriya Police Dog Division, at a public auction. The said auction is scheduled to be held on the upcoming August 01st.

These dogs have previously actively contributed to the Police Department in special operations to search for drugs and explosives, as well as in various criminal investigations.

A special opportunity has also been provided for those wishing to purchase these dogs and for the general public to observe them before the auction. Accordingly, the animals can be observed at the Asgiriya Police Dog Division playground from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on August 01st.

Following these observation activities, the public auction for the sale of the said police dogs will commence.
