A 47-year-old female lawyer was arrested by the Mount Lavinia Headquarters Police on the night of the 18th, on suspicion of stealing goods worth Rs. 5,292 from a leading supermarket located in the Ratmalana area. The suspect, who works at the Hulftsdorp Court in Colombo and is attached to the legal division of a commercial bank in the Colombo area, currently resides in Ratmalana, although her lawyer's ID card states a Pannipitiya address.
The security officers of the supermarket observed the woman entering the supermarket like a normal customer and secretly putting various items into her handbag.
