Will question Nagananda about the container 323 incident

It has been decided to summon Lawyer Nagananda Kodithuwakku before the Parliamentary Special Committee investigating the incident of releasing 323 containers from the Customs Department within the next few days. The committee has taken this step to summon him to inquire into detailed facts, considering the various revelations he had previously made regarding this incident.

The reason for this decision is that Mr. Nagananda Kodithuwakku has revealed a lot of important information regarding the container incident.

Last week, former Minister Udaya Gammanpila was also summoned before this committee, where the committee recorded a lengthy statement from him. Other politicians and individuals who revealed many facts related to this incident through the media are also scheduled to be summoned before this special committee in the coming days to record their statements.

This special committee, chaired by Attorney-at-Law Harshana Nanayakkara, Minister of Justice and National Integration, has been appointed to investigate the facts regarding the container release incident and report to Parliament. It has also been stipulated that the relevant investigation report must be submitted to Parliament within a period of three months from the date the committee first convened.
