Dikoya double killer escapes from custody

The main suspect, who was arrested in connection with the brutal murder of a married couple in the Hatton, Dikoya area, escaped from the Kandy National Hospital this morning (27). He was admitted to the hospital yesterday (26) under the protection of prison officials due to a medical condition, and he escaped from the custody of security officials around 5:45 AM today.

The person who escaped is 37 years old and has appeared under the names 'Sel Ayya', 'Manoj', and 'Manoharan' on various occasions. Authorities had revealed that he was involved in numerous crimes and had previously roamed areas such as Hali-Ela, Wattawala, Wickton, Lindula, Bogawantalawa, as well as Bulathsinhala, Ingiriya, and Piliyandala.

Previously, this individual was arrested after a rigorous operation conducted by officers from the Hatton and Bogawantalawa police stations, based on information received from the public following media publicity. Currently, the police and prison authorities have launched special search operations to re-arrest this dangerous escaped suspect, and authorities are urging the public to immediately inform the nearest police station if they have any information about him.
