The third national day of protest, themed "No Kings," organized against Donald Trump's administration, will be held today, Saturday, March 28, 2026. This massive protest, organized in less than a year, is expected to become the largest protest day in American history. This has been organized by a coalition of several progressive organizations such as Indivisible, 50501 Movement, No Kings Coalition, and AFL-CIO, who describe it as a massive non-violent challenge.

The origins of this protest movement date back to June 2025, when it was formed to oppose the growing authoritarianism during the President's second term. Its first phase took place on June 14, 2025, with over 5 million people participating in more than 2,100 cities, where the President's monarchical behavior, large-scale deportations, and the militarization of democracy were severely criticized. Subsequently, the second protest on October 18, 2025, saw approximately 7 million people participate in 2,700 locations, with massive crowds observed in major cities like New York, Washington, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Large-scale layoffs in public service, budget cuts, and violations of voting rights also contributed to the second protest, which concluded very peacefully, apart from a few minor incidents such as the arrest of 36 individuals.

As of now, "No Kings 3" protests have been confirmed to take place in over 3,000 locations nationwide and abroad. Frightening ICE operations conducted by masked police officers, fatal shootings against individuals like Renee Good, Keith Porter Jr., and Alex Pretty, as well as the war situation that began with Iran a month ago, are major reasons for this protest. Additionally, attacks on freedom of speech and civil rights, and economic policies that prioritize billionaires while putting severe pressure on ordinary families, have also drawn public disapproval. Famous figures such as Bruce Springsteen, Bernie Sanders, and Jane Fonda are also expected to participate in several protests, including the main rallies held near the Capitol building in Minnesota.

Political analysts indicate that this could be the largest public mobilization against Trump since 2017. It is considered part of a historic wave showing a 133 percent increase in protests compared to the previous administration. For this peaceful and inclusive protest movement, young people, minorities, trade union members, and former military personnel are largely uniting, shouting the historic slogan "No thrones, crowns, or kings" to the world. Organizers expect that each "No Kings" day will weaken the President's repressive strategies and repeatedly affirm that power lies with the people.
