US President Donald Trump has officially confirmed that he has launched a "major military operation" against Iran.

This attack is a massive joint military operation launched by the United States and Israel on Saturday morning.

Posting an eight-minute video on his 'Truth Social' social media account, President Trump stated that the purpose of this operation is to prevent the rebuilding of Iran's nuclear program and the development of long-range missiles, which could pose a threat to America and its allies in Europe.

The American President strongly emphasized that Iran's missile industry would be completely destroyed.

Trump stated that although indirect talks were held between the two countries in Geneva earlier this week, his attempt to reach an agreement failed because Iran was not prepared to provide what America wanted.

He also appealed to the Iranian people to take control of their government after this operation, pointing out that it would be their only opportunity for generations.

He further stated that there is a risk of American casualties in this military operation, but it is a noble mission for the future.

While this series of attacks is taking place, President Trump is spending the weekend at his Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida.

Meanwhile, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that a "pre-emptive" strike was launched against Iran to remove threats to his country.

The Israeli Prime Minister's Office has named this military operation "Roaring Lion," which follows the "Rising Lion" operation launched last June.

The launch of this attack during the period commemorating the destruction of historical enemies before the Jewish festival of Purim also carries symbolic religious significance.

In anticipation of potential retaliation from Iran, a special and permanent state of emergency has been declared throughout Israel, and schools and workplaces have been closed, with the public advised to limit activities to essential matters only.

Around 08:15 AM local time (06:15 GMT), missile attack warning sirens sounded across Israel.

Israel's airspace has been closed to civilian flights, and the country's Ministry of Health has taken steps to move operations at major hospitals—Sourasky in Tel Aviv, Sheba in Ramat Gan, and Rambam in Haifa—to underground facilities.

US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee has announced to all American citizens in the country to immediately go to safe places when warning sirens sound.

Iranian state media reports that powerful explosions have been heard in several cities, including the Iranian capital Tehran, following the joint American-Israeli attack.

In addition to Tehran, reports of attacks have also come from the cities of Isfahan, Qom, Karaj, Kermanshah, Tabriz, and Lorestan.

Missile attacks have specifically targeted Tehran's Pasteur district, where the official residence and office of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei are located, as well as areas around Jomhouri and Hassan Abad Squares.

Footage showing large plumes of smoke rising from several locations in central Tehran has been received by international media.

According to American officials, this operation is not a small attack and has only targeted Iran's military targets, ballistic missiles, and missile launch centers.

Reports indicate that Iran has also closed its airspace following the attack.

Meanwhile, Iranian state television channel IRINN is confirming news of the attacks, broadcasting old speeches by the Supreme Leader and footage of a pro-government rally, urging the public to unite.

Tasnim News Agency, affiliated with Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, states that Iran is preparing for a "devastating response and retaliation" against this attack.

Analysts speculate that Iran will retaliate against American bases in the region, Israeli locations, or American warships in the Persian Gulf using its short-range missiles, drones, or submarines.

This is the second attack by the United States on Iranian territory in less than a year; previously, in June, bombing targeted Iran's nuclear facilities.

Due to the denial of visas for journalists from international news agencies to enter Iran, independent information gathering about internal events in the country is severely restricted.
