This colorful ceremony, held prior to the first match between co-hosts India and the United States of America, will provide an excellent start to an action-packed tournament.Scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM Indian time, this ceremony is set to transform the entire stadium into a single spectacular stage, combining live music and massive dance choreographies. The event will commence with a powerful musical performance by Rishab Sharma and Sivamani, followed by the bringing of the T20 World Cup trophy to the stadium. An artist using Jetpack technology will arrive from the sky to deliver the trophy, a moment that will undoubtedly amaze the spectators at Wankhede Stadium.
ICC President Jay Shah and former Indian captain Rohit Sharma, who led the team to victory in 2024, are scheduled to receive this trophy, and 20 children, representing each participating nation, will join them to officially inaugurate the tournament. Subsequently, the stage will heat up with energetic performances by popular singer Badshah and spectacular dance acts by Nora Fatehi, and the opening ceremony will reach its climax with their combined grand finale performance.
This ceremony has been designed to reflect the speed and dynamism of a T20 cricket match, and a unique feature is the creation of the tournament's official logo as the main stage, utilizing the stadium's pitch as an integrated visual canvas. Immediately after the ceremony concludes with a spectacular fireworks display, the match between India and America will commence at 7:00 PM.
