According to the latest updated data reports from the Sri Lankan financial market, detailed information on foreign currency exchange rates, including the US Dollar, and gold prices has been published today. According to data released by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, the buying price of a US Dollar is recorded as LKR 305.67, and the selling price as LKR 313.21.It can be observed that the value of the dollar in several major commercial banks operating in the country remains around these limits, with Sampath Bank declaring the buying price of a dollar as LKR 306.50 and the selling price as LKR 313.00.


Seylan Bank offers a high buying price of LKR 307.65 for a dollar, with its selling price at LKR 311.65. Institutions like People's Bank and Union Bank also have the dollar's selling price around LKR 313, while Nations Trust Bank has recorded a high selling price of LKR 314.94.

In addition to the main exchange rates, focusing on the behavior of other foreign currencies, the average buying price of a Euro is LKR 353.36, and the selling price is LKR 365.91. For the British Pound, a buying price of LKR 407.27 and a selling price of LKR 420.97 have been set. The Australian Dollar is bought at LKR 202.34 and sold at LKR 211.26, while the Canadian Dollar records buying prices at values like LKR 218.12 and the Singapore Dollar at LKR 235.93. For the neighboring Indian Rupee, the buying price is recorded as LKR 3.28 and the selling price as LKR 3.53 in bank rates, and updated new rates have also been issued for the Japanese Yen and Swiss Franc.




Examining the local gold market, gold prices appear to be at a significant level. The price of one gram of 24-carat gold is recorded as LKR 46,478, and one gram of 22-carat gold as LKR 42,605. For consumers purchasing gold jewelry, the price of one sovereign (8 grams) of 24-carat gold is LKR 371,824, and one sovereign of 22-carat gold is LKR 340,840. Additionally, prices for a gold ounce have also been published, with a 24-carat gold ounce reaching a high value of LKR 1,451,511, and a 22-carat gold ounce priced at LKR 1,330,552, according to market reports.
