The England cricket team arrived at Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake yesterday (January 19) morning for a cricket tour against Sri Lanka. They are scheduled to participate in three One-Day Internationals and three Twenty20 Internationals during this tour.
The ODI series will be held on January 22, 24, and 27 at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo, and these matches have been organized as day-night matches.
Meanwhile, the T20 series is planned to be held as night matches on January 30, February 01, and 03 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
The England team, consisting of 28 officials and players, landed at Katunayake Airport yesterday morning at 8:20 AM on Emirates flight EK-650, which arrived from Dubai.
To welcome them, Sri Lanka Cricket and the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau jointly organized a special welcoming ceremony.
For the security of the England cricket team, Katunayake Airport Police, the Police Special Task Force, and Ministerial Security Division officials jointly provided strict security within the airport premises.
