Responding to a query from journalists about whether there was a preparation to remove the Attorney General, the Minister stated that there had never been any discussion within the Cabinet regarding bringing an impeachment motion to remove the Attorney General.
The Minister pointed out that various discussions regarding the Attorney General have recently emerged on social media platforms, stating that while some parties argue that the Attorney General should be protected, others express the opinion that he should be removed. He also recalled that some social media posts are circulating suggesting that the Justice Minister should also be removed from his post.
However, the Minister clarified that there is no connection between these views published on social media and the official stance of the government, and he stated that the information circulating on social media is the creation of the respective individuals and that the government is not involved.
Commenting on allegations of fraud or corruption, the Minister stated that if there are corruption charges against the Justice Minister or anyone else, the law of the country applies equally to all. He also pointed out that anyone has the opportunity to submit complaints to the relevant authorities.
While acknowledging that citizens have the right to express their opinions, the Justice Minister reiterated that as a government, no official discussions have been held regarding a process to remove the Attorney General.
