Sabina Yusuf, representing Sri Lanka at the 41st Mrs. World Grand Finale held in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, successfully brought international fame to her homeland by winning the second runner-up title.
In this glamorous competition held on January 29, she was selected among the Top 20 contestants, and notably, she also won the 'Mrs. Photogenic' award, which is given to the beauty queen most suitable for photography, as a sub-competition.
The winning crown of this competition, or the Mrs. World 2025 title, was won by Chanita Seedaket Craythorne of Thailand. Paige Ewing of the United States was selected as the first runner-up, and contestants from over 60 countries competed for this crown.
Sri Lanka holds a unique place in the history of the Mrs. World competition, with Mrs. Rosy Senanayake becoming its first winner when the pageant began in 1984. Mrs. Rosy Senanayake was also present at this event in Las Vegas to encourage Sabina Yusuf this time.
Adding more victories to Sri Lanka's proud history, Caroline Jurie was crowned Mrs. World in 2020 but later had to relinquish the title. In 1999, Shivani Vasagam Vedanayagam won the fourth runner-up title. Furthermore, with Ishadi Amanda being selected as the first runner-up in last year's competition, Sri Lanka's name continues to remain prominent on the international beauty pageant stage.
