Police said that two main henchmen involved in the local drug trafficking operations of Thotawilage Dhanushka Kaushalya alias “Saima,” a large-scale drug trafficker operating from abroad, were arrested on the 27th with 22,000 milligrams of heroin worth over eight hundred thousand rupees, in the Borupana Sentry Road area of Ratmalana, by the Mount Lavinia Divisional Criminal Investigation Bureau.




According to information received by Chief Police Inspector Gamage Nilatha, OIC of the Mount Lavinia Divisional Criminal Investigation Bureau, from a private informant, the first suspect, a 56-year-old resident of Borupana Sentry Road, was arrested with 12,000 milligrams of heroin, and the second suspect, a 22-year-old resident of Borupana Sentry Road, was arrested with 10,000 milligrams of heroin.

Police also stated that it has been revealed that these traffickers, acting on phone calls from the main trafficker abroad, have been packaging the received heroin from houses and distributing it for a long time in areas such as Ratmalana, Moratuwa, Lunawa, Angulana, Mount Lavinia, Kohuwala, and Dehiwala.
