4 killed in severe road accident in Kilinochchi (photos)

Four people have died in a severe road accident that occurred this evening (12) in the Murasumote area on the Paranthan - Mullaitivu main road, which falls under the Kilinochchi Police Division. The accident happened when a passenger bus traveling from Paranthan towards Mullaitivu collided head-on with a car coming from the opposite direction.

At the time of the accident, five males, including the driver, were traveling in the car. Two of the five occupants of the car died on the spot, and three were admitted to the Kilinochchi District Hospital.

Of the three admitted to the hospital, two died without receiving treatment, and one is still receiving treatment. Among the deceased are the driver and three other individuals.

The deceased are residents of the Viswamadu area, aged 32, 34, and 46. The accident occurred when a car traveling from the Viswamadu area towards Kilinochchi collided head-on with a bus traveling from Vavuniya towards Viswamadu. The other person who was in the car is currently receiving treatment in the intensive care unit of Kilinochchi Hospital, and the bus driver has also been hospitalized for treatment.

 The bodies of the deceased have been placed in the mortuary of Kilinochchi Hospital for post-mortem examinations, and Kilinochchi Police are conducting further investigations into the accident.
