3 suspects who brought 237 foreign birds by a vessel taken into naval custody

A dinghy carrying 237 birds, which were attempted to be illegally brought into the country from abroad, and three suspects involved were arrested by the Sri Lanka Navy yesterday (14).

This arrest was made during a special search operation conducted by the Navy in the sea area around Kachchativu Island, Jaffna.

The suspects taken into Navy custody have been identified as residents of Delft Island, Jaffna, aged between 25 and 41.

The Navy further states that the arrested suspects, the dinghy, and the birds have been handed over to the Delft Police Station for further legal action.
