School student electrocuted to death while checking the stopped water motor

Kinnia Police state that a twelve-year-old schoolboy died after being electrocuted while inspecting a water motor at his home that had stopped working. The student died after being admitted to Kinnia Hospital on the night of the day before yesterday (14).

The child who unfortunately died in this manner was Abdul Qadir Sadiq, a seventh-grade student at Kakmune Government Mixed School, residing in Kakmune, Kinnia.

Initial police investigations have revealed that the student was electrocuted while attempting to restart the malfunctioning water motor.

Kinnia Police Station OIC W.H.C.K. Fernando, who initiated an investigation into the incident, has referred the body to the mortuary at Trincomalee Hospital to determine the cause of death. Kinnia Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
