Those who illegally entered a house and stole ten coconuts with husks were arrested.

Kegalle Police stated that a youth who allegedly illegally entered a house in Dikwella, Hettimulla, Kegalle area and stole ten husked coconuts was arrested the day before yesterday (23rd). The arrested youth is a resident of Dikwella, Hettimulla, Kegalle.

A complaint regarding this incident was lodged by a woman residing in Deweldeniya, Dikwella, Kegalle. Police stated that she lives in the said house with her elderly mother, daughter, and son-in-law. Her complaint further stated that ten husked coconuts kept in a back room of the house went missing on the afternoon of the 16th.

Subsequently, the woman observed CCTV camera footage installed at a neighboring house, where the suspect who stole the coconuts was identified. Complaining to the Kegalle Police about this, she stated that the identified suspect had been recorded on the CCTV footage stealing coconuts from the back of her house on several previous occasions.

According to this complaint, Sub-Inspector Senanayake conducted an investigation and arrested the suspect the day before yesterday (23rd). The arrested suspect was scheduled to be produced before the Kegalle Magistrate's Court yesterday (24th).
