Vishwa Kodikara caught with cocaine

The Mount Lavinia Magistrate's Court ordered popular actor Vishwa Kodikara, who was found guilty of possessing cocaine, to pay a fine of Rs. 5,000. This order was issued by Mount Lavinia Magistrate Kanchana Neranjala Silva when the actor pleaded guilty to the charge on September 17, the day the relevant case was called.

Based on information received by Wellawatte Police on the night of September 16 regarding the presence of drugs in a well-known restaurant located on the Wellawatte beach strip, an immediate raid was conducted. During the raid, a group of five people, including Vishwa Kodikara, who were arrested with drugs, were thus produced before the court.

Officers from the Wellawatte Police's Case Operations Division, presenting facts to the court regarding the suspects, stated that 1050 milligrams of cocaine were found in Vishwa Kodikara's possession at the time of his arrest. The Magistrate sternly warned the suspects that if they are caught again for a similar drug-related offense and brought before the court in the future, they would be directly referred for rehabilitation.
