It's common for evil people to do bad things - Wray Kelly says after budget defeat

Colombo Mayor Rosy Senanayake decided on the Colombo Municipal Council's budget, stating that the future of the Colombo Municipal Council is not the future of Colombo.

The Mayor also announced that after failing to gain power, the National People's Power (NPP) leadership had cooperated with all ministers from a different political party.

After the National People's Power (NPP) was defeated in the Colombo Municipal Council budget debate, the Mayor stated: "You were defeated not by the National People's Power's budget, but by your conscience and the budget of your conscience."

Referring to the ministers who voted against the budget, Mayor Rosy Senanayake said that they should reconsider what they have done for the people of Colombo.

"It is common for bad people to do bad things. It is even more terrible when good people unite to do bad things," she further stated.

This statement was made after the National People's Power (NPP) was defeated in the Colombo Municipal Council budget debate yesterday (21). In this, the unified opposition voted against the budget, with 60 ministers voting against the budget and 57 supporting it.
