A Sevanagala school sports teacher packed ice from a teacher's residence.

A sports teacher from a school in the Sevanagala area, along with two others, was arrested yesterday (21) while packaging ice drugs. The Sevanagala Police stated that this arrest took place inside the official residence of the said school.

Police say that among those arrested on suspicion are the 28-year-old sports teacher, a 29-year-old, and another 40-year-old.

Information reports indicate that when the police raided the school's official residence, the sports teacher and the three suspects were packaging drugs. At that time, the sports teacher was found with 2 grams and 2 milligrams of ice drug, the second suspect with 2 grams and 110 milligrams of ice, and the third suspect with 150 milligrams. Police stated that they were able to arrest them with these quantities of drugs.

Based on information received by the police several months ago, this operation was carried out after several stakeouts. According to this information, Sevanagala Police further state that there is strong suspicion that school children have been directed towards drugs. Information has revealed that one of the arrested suspects is a major drug trafficker.

Furthermore, police revealed that the father of the arrested sports teacher was also convicted of drug trafficking and is currently serving a prison sentence at Agunukolapelessa Prison. Information is also emerging that his mother is involved in illicit liquor trafficking, and a broad investigation has been launched into whether the suspect teacher sold drugs to students at the school where he works.
