With the busy lifestyle prevalent in modern society, the use of bread or sandwiches for breakfast has become a very common sight. Although many people, from schoolchildren to adults going to the office, choose this convenient food with the aim of saving time,

Health authorities point out that this white bread, consumed daily, can act as a 'slow poison' to your body. Especially, the nutritional value of bread made from refined flour, also known as Maida, is very low, and it can cause many serious side effects to the body.

White bread has a very high Glycemic Index (GI), so consuming it immediately causes blood glucose levels to rise very rapidly. This leads to an imbalance in insulin activity, and long-term consumption of white bread can become a major factor in developing Type-2 Diabetes. Additionally, due to the high calories and refined carbohydrates in bread, unnecessary fat accumulates in the body. The lack of fiber in it means that one does not feel full after eating, and this often leads many people to overeat, resulting in obesity.

Bread flour, processed by removing all natural properties of the wheat grain, does not contain essential nutrients such as vitamins and minerals, and

This merely adds 'empty calories' to the body, providing sluggishness and weakness instead of energy. Furthermore, this fiber-less flour adheres to the intestines, causing digestive difficulties, and frequent consumption of bread can commonly lead to abdominal conditions such as constipation, gas, and bloating.

The preservatives used to extend the shelf life of bread and the high amount of sodium (salt) used to enhance its taste are very harmful to health. Excessive sodium intake directly contributes to increased blood pressure, which significantly raises the risk of heart disease in the future. Therefore, considering this information as a general awareness, it is always advisable to seek a doctor's advice for further guidance on health issues or nutrition.
