Wimal's wife Shashi goes to CID

The wife of the Leader of the National Freedom Front, Minister Wimal Weerawansa, has complained with the CID today, asking him to investigate the rumour circulating on social media that she had fled the country with the owner of the Bluemountain business. A statement made by Minister Wimal in the last few days has caused an uproar even against him in the ruling party.

Even the news photos had mentioned that Shashi Weerawansa had run away with the millionaire who owns a construction group called Bluemountain as a result of a plot made by Basil. Wimal Weerawansa's wife is still in Sri Lanka, and today she has informed the CID that she and her two children were mentally abused due to the rumour. She has also demanded that the matter be investigated and the culprits punished. Meanwhile, it was reported that several party leaders had visited Minister Wimal Weerawansa's residence today for a discussion. Minister Udaya Gammanpila said that members of 12 parties participated in the debate.
