Mrs. World Beauty pageant crown to Caroline of Sri Lanka ... after 35 years

Caroline Jurie who represented Sri Lanka for Mrs. World Beauty Queen contest has clinched the crown in the pageant. The finals which was held in Las Vegas, Nevada, America and 51 contestants she has been successful in bringing pride to Sri Lanka in this contest.

Though Mrs. World beauty queen contest is being held under various names on an international level,
this happens to be the chief contest in that category. While she clinched first position, the second and third runners up were from Ireland and Virgin Islands respectively. Before this, at the inception year of this pageant in the year 1984, this crown was bestowed on Mrs. Rosy Senanayaka of Sri Lanka.

In this manner, 4 countries have been fortunate enough to win the crown more than once in the history of this tournament. They are, America 6, Peru 2, Russia 2 and now Sri Lanka 2. Though contestants from every country do not participate in this tournament, on this occasion the most number of contestants of 51 participated in the event.

Caroline Jurie, a mother of one child is a professional model. She was directed to this contest after she won the Mrs. Sri Lanka title. Beauty culturist Chandimal Jayasingha functioned as Sri Lanka's agent for the contest.
