Karuppiah Rajendran Abdulla, an employee of the copper factory belonging to millionaire businessman, Inshaf Ahamed who committed suicide by blowing up a bomb inside Cinnamon Grand hotel on Easter Sunday and this employee who happens to be the tenth suspect in the case being now heard was ordered to be remanded till next 15th by chief Colombo magistrate, Miss Lanka Jayaratna yesterday (8). In the same manner the magistrate instructed criminal investigations department to call the case again next 15th and to forward further

Though this suspect Karuppiah Rajendran Abdulla was an ordinary worker in this copper factory, criminal investigation department informed court that bomber Mohommed Inshaf Ahamad the owner of this factory has granted loans to him from time to time and that after his wedding a party was thrown by him for relatives after his wedding. The CID further said in the presence of court that further investigations are underway in this connection. Ten suspects were apprehended by Wellampitiya police after inspecting the copper factory in Wellampitiya belonging to millionaire businessman, Mohommed Inshaf Ahamed who committed suicide by blowing up a bomb inside Cinnamon Grand hotel on investigations carried out after the Easter attack and the suspects were produced before court. On that occasion the magistrate bailed out the first nine suspects and as the tenth suspect was produced before court by Wellampitiya police under the act of prevention of terrorism, he was refused bail. Later, this case was taken up by criminal investigation department and the department is continuing with investigations.
