Parliament employee has joined training camp of Zaharan
The parliament worker who was taken into custody in Kurunegala under charges that he has maintained close relationships with suicide bomber Zaharan Hasheem, leader of banned National Thawheed Jamad Organisation had joined a training camp conducted at Alakola in Kurunegala, police media spokesman, superintendent of police Mr. Ruwan Gunasekera said.
On a tip off received by Kurunegala police about this training camp, an inquiry was carried out and this suspect was arrested. Apart from this suspect, five other suspects linked to this training camp
were taken into custody by police. Among them was the owner of the coconut estate and the person who conducted lectures in that respect. After they were produced in court they were sent to remand prison till next 24th. Subsequently, an employee of Kurunegala hospital and another person who joined in this training sessions too were taken into custody. On later inquiries, the aforesaid parliament employee was taken into custody.
