Krishantha Pushpa Kumara alias Raththaran who has been taken into custody because of a incident of having caused serious sexual abuse to a sixteen year old schoolgirl and was produced before court was yesterday released on bail and a dialogue is going round the social media as to what extent it is justified for him to be released like that. In the meantime further information has been reported of how the incident has happened. What police told
court was that the victimised girl is the eldest in the family and as this MP is holding a reputation as a person who performs 'shanthikarma', the girl has gone to the suspect's Bataduwa house where his devala is situated ... in the company of the girl's parents, brother and a sister of hers and on that occasion the suspect has undertaken the work and they have been summoned to the devala from the elder child onwards down the line. 

As such, when the elder child has proceeded inside the devala, a lemon has been handed to her and after going into a trance she was questioned whether she has been touched by a male and that some poison has entered the girl's body and that it would be removed. In this manner by saying that the poison will be removed, her body was felt all over and she was sexually abused thereafter. 

Police say that the girl had been retained in that premises and she has been sexually abused on four occasions on one day itself and that the girl of 16 years has believed it was a part of the 'shanthikarma'. It was reported that she had started bleeding from her private parts and after meeting a private lady doctor and had told her that she fell from the bicycle, thus taking treatment. On this information, the police have secured a statement from the lady doctor. This was announced in court. Initially she has told about the incident to her mother after which the mother has informed the father. He has then got worried and subsequently questioned the exorcist politician. The father has said that a discussion has taken place to the effect about a cash transaction not to reveal this and to cover everything under the carpet.   

Whatever it is, the MP has not kept his word. Therefore, the father has taken steps to complain this to police emergency unit. Attorneys at Law who appeared on behalf of suspect MP bringing forward their points have said that police have camouflaged matters and had presented the complaint and that there is an attempt to tarnish image of their client. 

It was a middle-man by the name of Hemasiri who has escorted the girl with members of her family for the 'shanthikarma'. The lawyers have informed that it was he who spoken to the MP across the phone and had instructed that if the matter is to be settled, to keep Rs. 10 lakhs ready. 

The magistrate who considered matters brought forward by both parties ordered bail for the suspect and postponed further hearing till 30th April.
