Further information has been received in connection with Reality loser attacking Rukantha Gunatilleka and his motor vehicle. This attack was launched by supporters of Thivanka Dilshan from Divulapitiya, the latter of whom had to leave the stage from the contest held on day before yesterday night (23) as a loser in the contest which was conducted for the purpose of selecting the singing Star of 'Hiru Star' which is broadcast these days. 

On this occasion the judges on the board of selectors were Shihan Mihiranga, Nirosha Virajini and Rukantha Gunatilleka and Thivanka who had to face defeat in the presence of Amila unfortunately
had to forego the opportunity of entering the batch of the last 4 contestants. When adding thoughts about the song for which Thivanka lost, Rukantha Gunatilleka has offered the following criticism saying, "What was in your head was about Amila getting his marks. You shivered when delivering the song ... had no desire to sing properly".  

Thivanka has made his responses regarding this criticism. On the occasion of this contest a large number of supporters of Thivanka from Divulapitiya had been present which was shown on the screen during the programme and this crowd who were gripped with this defeat expressed their anger after the programme when the show was over. When Mr. Rukantha Gunatilleka has walked towards his vehicle, the group of supporters had expressed protesting that it was Rukantha's judgement that affected Thivanka's expulsion and because of an argument that erupted there and the crowd of about 200 who had gathered at that spot had expressed their protest by 'booing' at Rukantha and had gone to the extent of assaulting him. 

It was after that Rukantha has lodged a complaint with Mattegoda Police to the effect that he and his vehicle were attacked. It was stated that this attack was made at about 9.45 pm day before yesterday (23) at address of No. 97, Ratthanapitiya, Boralesgomuwa. Police say that bruises in several parts of Mr. Rukantha Gunatilleka's body was to be observed from this assault. Inquiries are underway in relation to the incident.
