Student who answered 2017 Chemistry paper with gadget fixed ...wants to go overseas
A dental surgeon's (Dr. Kesara Bangamuuaarachci) son of Colombo Royal College was motivated to engage in an act of cheating by utilising modern technological gadgets for the past 2017 advanced level. As a consequence of that act, schoolboy Sasika Kesara Bangamuaarachchi who then was a schoolboy was accused of answering the year 2017 Chemistry paper with the aid of a bluetooth gadget was prohibited from foreign travel those days; however as he had expressed the necessity of securing a fresh passport, that case has been called
before court once again. On that occasion Gampaha magistrate Mr. D.A. Ruwan Pathirana has ordered that prohibition for foreign travel would be n force as before.
The suspect has asked for permission from court on a previous instance to get a fresh passport. As such, Mr. D.A. Ruwan Pathirana had issued orders to the Criminal Investigation Department to inform court after inquiring from Emigration and Immigration Department whether it is possible to issue a fresh passport at the time when foreign travel has been prohibited. As a response, officers of Criminal Investigation Department who handled the case has informed in presence of court that if permission is granted by court, a fresh passport could be issued by Emigration and Immigration Department officers.
Further, officers of the Emigration and immigration Department expressed in the presence of court that the computer report in respect of the government analyst department which was forwarded to court on permission of court after being found in possession of the suspect and taken into custody has thus far not been received and that further examinations are underway with regard to documents secured by the postal department.
The 6 suspects R.A. Nuwan Ranasingha, R.A. Jayasena, Lochana Suranga Perera (printing press owner), Sasika Kesara Bangamuaarachchi (the then schoolboy), hat student's father Senadhi Indrajith Bangamuaarachchi and class-teacher R.A. Jinendra Ranasingha appeared in presence of Gampaha magistrate court and the suspects were asked to appear before court once again on October 12th. Mr. D.A.P. Weeraratna, attorney-at-law appeared in court on behalf of the suspects.
