Story of Deputy minister Nishantha Muthuhettigama too being present at Ambalangoda Facebook party ..which police raided!

It was reported that police raided a drinks and narcotics party held at a hotel in Aandaapola area in Ambalangoda last 14th and that 18 persons were taken into custody. 

However, a large majority of the media had concealed the news about a special person who was there at that time. Later however it was later reported that deputy minister Nishantha Muthuhettigama had attended the party concerned. It was also reported that he had left that party around 9.30 pm, a short
while before the police raid.

This party had been communicated across Facebook and held by a group who were constantly engaged in such activities. It was also understood that perhaps because illegal drugs were being used, the organisers have utilised political attachments as their security and that several politicians in adjoining areas too had been invited. The party which was named Disco Dance had started at about 7 o'clock in the night and hundreds of youth who were invited across the Facebook had begun to trek to the  hotel concerned and neighbours were able to observe that stationed by the side of the road leading to the hotel, some invitees were engaged in smoking the banned stuff. 

Not being able to bear this sight anymore, a neighbour had called Ambalangoda police headquarters and had given the news. Subsequently a team of police officers had visited the place taking police dog Thaara with  them and true to the complaint made, 18 youth were accosted by police with illegal drugs in their possession. In the meantime deputy minister Nishantha Muthuhettigama too had been present at the location and he had scooted away on the sly, it was learned. However when the media questioned him about it, he had rejected it. "I have no connection in organising that party. Neither did I attend it. I don't know any such thing", he now says. The youngsters who were apprehended were produced before Balapitiya magistrate.
